BASF’s site in Seneca sponsored and participated in Clemson University’s “Be A T.I.G.E.R. Field Day,” a free youth event created and organized by Clemson student-athletes.

This annual event is one of the Upstate’s major spring kickoff events and offers a preview of the upcoming Clemson football season. BASF sponsored a series of hands-on science experiments for kids, including teaching how bubbles are made, all led by employee volunteers.

Be A T.I.G.E.R. Field Day focuses on games and activities to teach the T.I.G.E.R. character traits. Each letter in the word ‘TIGER’ stands for a certain character trait that is important for young children to understand and practice in their everyday lives. “T” stands for teamwork, “I” for integrity, “G” for gratitude, “E” for education and “R” for respect.

Student-athletes from each of Clemson’s athletic teams participated in the event, and parents were encouraged to attend with their children, and join them at each station. Youth who attend and take part in all activities received a Be A T.I.G.E.R. t-shirt and other prizes throughout the day.

Close to 500 children and their families took part in events.
